To Love Ru
"To Love-Ru" is a popular manga series created by Saki Hasemi and illustrated by Kentaro Yabuki. From 2006 to 2009, it was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, and from 2010 to 2017, it was serialized in Jump Square. The manga has several story arcs and a mix of romantic comedy, sci-fi, and harem elements.
The plot revolves around Rito Yuuki, a high school student whose life takes an unexpected turn. A beautiful alien girl named Lala Satalin Deviluke crashes lands in Rito's bathtub one day. Lala is the Princess of Deviluke, and she has fled her home to avoid an arranged marriage. As a result, Rito's life becomes intertwined with a number of alien girls.
Rito faces numerous comedic and romantic situations throughout the series as he tries to navigate his everyday life while dealing with alien encounters, intergalactic politics, and the affections of multiple girls. As Rito tries to confess his feelings to his crush, Haruna Sairenji, while dealing with the chaos caused by the other girls, the manga combines humor, ecchi (suggestive or sexually provocative content), and a touch of action. Fans praised "To Love-Ru" for its comedic moments, appealing character designs, and fan service. It has also spawned a number of anime adaptations, light novels, and spin-off manga series, further expanding the franchise.
