Tunnel (2017)

Tunnel is a South Korean television series that premiered in 2017 and stars Choi Jin-hyuk, Yoon Hyun-min, and Lee Yoo-young. From March 25 through May 21, 2017, it replaced Voice and aired on cable network OCN on Saturdays and Sundays at 22:00 (KST) for 16 episodes. The Hwaseong serial killings inspired the series.

Park Kwang Ho (Choi Jin Hyuk) is a police detective assigned to the violent crime section in 1986, and he is on the hunt for a deadly serial murderer. But when his daughter was in danger, he was in a frenzied dash to apprehend the deadly assailant before it was too late. He pursues him down a tunnel, only to be transferred to 2017 when the killer is still at large. Kwang Ho was out of his element as he navigated the technical and sociological advancements of the current year, as times had changed considerably after three decades. However, he receives assistance from police detective Kim Sun Jae (Yoon Hyun Min) and criminal psychology professor Shin Jae Yi (Lee Yoo Young). Together, they set out on a hunt to bring the elusive killer to justice.
