The French video game publisher Ubisoft Entertainment SA is based in Saint-Mandé and has offices in other cities throughout the world. Titles including Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, For Honor, Just Dance, Prince of Persia, Rabbids, Rayman, Tom Clancy's, and Watch Dogs are all part of the company's video game catalogue.

Since the late 2010s, Ubisoft has taken a more active role in developing blockchain-based video games. The company is actively promoting the use of blockchain-based content in video games and is a co-founder of the Blockchain Game Alliance, a consortium of several companies active in the blockchain space that was established in September 2018. Yves Guillemot, co-founder of Ubisoft, believes that the inclusion of crypto-based content in video games will lead to greater player investment and industry expansion.

Tezos, which Ubisoft claims is an energy-efficient cryptocurrency, will be used in the Ubisoft Quartz blockchain program, which was announced in December 2021. This would allow players to purchase individually identifiable personalization items for games and then sell or trade them based on the Tezos currency. To my knowledge, this was the first "AAA" blockchain game.
