Vazhachaal Waterfalls
Vazhachaal Falls is located in the Athirappilly Panchayath in the Thrissur district of Kerala, on India's southwest coast. It is only 5 kilometers from the entrance of Athirappilly Falls, which is located on the west-flowing Chalakudy River near the Vazhachal Forest Division and on the edge of the Sholayar hills. It is 36 kilometers from Chalakudy. This stream is stunningly beautiful and is located very near the Athirapally-Valparai route.
These waterfalls became famous not only for their beauty but also for the endemic species found in the deep forests surrounding them. Researchers discovered four endangered Hornbill species here, the only spot they may survive in the entire Western Ghats. This location is very important to ornithologists, and bird watchers can find numerous uncommon and vibrant species in these parts.
