  1. Athirappilly Falls is located on the Chalakudy River in Athirappilly Panchayat, Chalakudy Taluk, Thrissur District, Kerala, India. It originates from the upper regions of the Western Ghats at the entrance to the Sholayar mountains. It is Kerala's largest waterfall, at 80 feet tall. It's only a short drive from Athirappilly to the Vazhachal falls, which are surrounded by dense green forests and home to numerous endangered and rare flora and fauna. Another waterfall adjacent to the road on the route from Athirappilly to Vazhachal Falls is known locally as "Charpa Falls". Athirappilly Falls is Kerala's largest waterfall and is known as "The Niagara of South India".


    Teak, bamboo, and eucalyptus plantations can be found in the area. According to environmentalists, Athirappilly is a one-of-a-kind riparian ecosystem in Kerala. According to V.S. Vijayan, Chairman of the Kerala State Biodiversity Board and former Director of the Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON), Coimbatore, the Vazhachal forest division is the second most biodiverse area in the state.

  2. Meenmutty Falls is one of the most beautiful in the state. Meenmutty Falls is a waterfall located 45 kilometers (28 miles) from Trivandrum in the Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala, India. The falls are close to the Ponmudi hill station, the Thiruvananthapuram district, and the Agastya Mala Biosphere Reserve. This waterfall can be found in the upper riparian stream of the Vamanapuram River. It is Kerala's second-largest waterfall.


    Visitors must travel 2 kilometers through deep woodlands to reach the falls because there is no transportation. Kallar on the Vithura-Ponmudi route is a close roadhead. Other waterfalls nearby include Kombaikani Falls (which is 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) upstream of Meenmutti Falls), Thavakkal Waterfalls, and Vaazhvanthol Waterfalls. There is also a waterfall of the same name in Kerala's Wayanad district.

  3. Palaruvi Falls is a waterfall in the Kollam district of Kerala, India. It is India's 40th-highest waterfall and one of its most magnificent. Palaruvi falls from a height of 300 feet (91 meters) and is located near Aryankavu, Kollam district, Kerala, India. It is only 5 kilometers from the entrance of Athirappilly Falls, which is located on the west-flowing Chalakudy River near the Vazhachal Forest Division and on the edge of the Sholayar hills. It is 36 kilometers from Chalakudy. This stream is stunningly beautiful and is located very near the Athirapally-Valparai route.


    These waterfalls became famous not only for their beauty but also for the endemic species found in the deep forests surrounding them. Researchers discovered four endangered Hornbill species here, the only spot they may survive in the entire Western Ghats.   6. Perunthenaruvi is one of the most beautiful Kerala waterfalls formed on the Pampa River, a popular destination for both domestic and foreign tourists. The Perunthenaruvi Waterfalls are located in Pathanamthitta District, Central Travancore Region, Kerala State, India. It is a prominent tourist spot in Ranni taluk's Vechoochira Panchayat. The Perunthnaruvi translates as "The Honey Stream".


    From a height of 60 to 100 feet, this water runs down a stony slope and into a pool via several streams. This is a fantastic area to spend a few hours swimming, playing in the water, and admiring the breathtaking views. Kudamurutty is on one side of the waterfall, while Vechoochira is on the other. The major path to this waterfall begins in Ranni and continues through Athikkayam, Kudamurutty, and Perunthenaruvi. It's a lovely place to spend time with family in a peaceful setting.   7. Sentinel Rock Waterfalls is a three-tiered waterfall in the Indian state of Wayanad. Forests of deciduous, evergreen, and montane trees surround it. Sentinel Rock, also known as Soochipara Waterfalls, is a destination where both the trek and the scenery are unreal. To reach the summit, people drive across difficult terrain and hike a naturally rocky path. They never, however, grumble about the end outcome.


    The 15-20-minute drive from Meppadi to Sentinel Rock Waterfalls, known locally as Soochipara ("Soochi" means "Needle" and "Para" means "Rock"), offers vistas of several Wayanad tea fields. Sentinel Rock Waterfalls is 200 meters (656 feet) tall and has a rock-climbing cliff wall. The water from Soochipara Falls eventually flows into the Chulika River, also known as the Chaliyar River after the Velarimala Hills in Cherambadi (Tamil Nadu) in Kerala. When individuals arrive at the parking lot, they must go through a security check at the entry to ensure they are not carrying any plastic. It takes a 10-15 minute walk to the waterfalls and water flow is less during summer, which makes it easy to reach the rocks where water falls.

  8. Thusharagiri Falls is a breathtaking waterfall located 32 kilometers from Kalpetta in the alluring Malabar area. This waterfall is also one of the top attractions in Kozhikode. The Chalippuzha River is formed by the confluence of two streams that originate in the Western Ghats. The Chalippuzha River splits into three magnificent waterfalls that resemble a snowy spray, earning the name Thusharagiri, which means "snow-capped mountain".


    You can also go on short treks to see the tempting beauty of Malabar. The Thenpara waterfall is the tallest of the three, falling from a height of 75 meters (246 ft). The Erattumukku and Mazhavil Chattam falls are the other two. They have captured the attention of many of the guests.

  9. The Meenvallam Waterfalls, a hidden gem in the Palakkad district, cascade from heights of up to 45 meters into the Thuppanadu River, which springs in the Kalladikodan Hills. Thuppanadu River eventually merges with the Thoothapuzha River, which discharges into the Bharathapuzha River. The waterfalls are located 8 kilometers deep into the forests from Thuppanad Junction on the Palakkad-Manarkkad Route of NH 213, and they have captured the attention of many of the guests.


    The Palakkad District Panchayat has built a modest hydel project at Meenvallam with an installed capacity of three megawatts. Thudikkode Vana Samrakshana Samathi of Olavakkode Range in Palakkad Forest Division protects and maintains the waterfalls and surrounding region. The woodlands that surround the waterfalls are part of the Silent Valley National Park. The waterfall is 34 kilometers from Palakkad and 26 kilometers from Mannarkkad.

  10. Lakkam Water Falls, also known as Lakkam Waterfalls, is a tourist attraction in Kerala's Idukki district, near Marayoor. These falls are part of the Eravikulam stream, which is part of Eravikulam National Park and one of the Pambar River's major tributaries. Lakkam Waterfalls is located around 30-35 kilometers from Munnar on the way to Udumalaipettai. To get here, take a bus to Udumalaipettai or take a local taxi from Munnar. It is located on State Highway 17.


    The Lakkam Waterfalls are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and visitors must pay an entrance fee of $20. There are no additional fees for DSLR cameras. There is also a guided hiking program available at Lakkom Waterfalls for 100, which allows you to travel beside the waterfalls.
