Adama Science and Technology University
Adama Science and Technology University includes campuses in the towns of Adama, Asella, and Debre Zeyit, as well as Addis Abeba (Winget campus). The Nazareth Technical College (NTC) was formed in 1993 and was later renamed Nazareth College of Technical Teacher Education (NCTTE) until 2003, specializing in the training of technical teachers.
The same school was raised to the university level in 2006, creating Adama University (AU). After five years, the university was renamed Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU).
Adama Science and Technology University is currently divided into two towns: Adama, which acts as the main campus, and Asella, which contains the Schools of Agriculture and Health Sciences, respectively.
Beginning in 2011, the institution embarked on a new phase of development fit for the country's context. It has reorganized its schools and is currently constructing new institutions to supplement the existing ones to boost educational quality.
The number of academic institutions has now risen to seven, with a separate school established to handle all postgraduate degrees.
ASTU strives to be Ethiopia's first choice and one of Africa's recognized institutions devoted to excellence in applied sciences and technology, and has passed a Five-Year Strategic Plan and Senate Legislation to help it realize its vision: ASTU strives to be Ethiopia's first choice and one of Africa's recognized institutions devoted to excellence in applied sciences and technology. To make this aim a reality, the university community is attempting to combine the real world with academics.
