Hawassa University
The fourth best university in Ethiopia is Hawassa University which was established in Hawassa in April 2000. Three southern Ethiopian colleges merged to form the university: Awassa College of Agriculture, Wondogenet College of Forestry, and Dilla College of Teacher Education and Health Sciences.
The goal of Hawassa University is to promote knowledge, improve technology creation and transfer, foster successful entrepreneurship, and instill a responsible and democratic attitude through training, research, and public services, contributing to the growth of the nation. Since then, the university has grown in size by adding new schools, institutes and departments, programs, and research facilities.
Hawassa University is currently expanding to increase its intake capacity. As part of this, the University got 61 hectares of land from the Yirgalem Town Administration and has begun building structures to expand existing programs and add new ones.
Hawassa University is now a comprehensive university with various academic departments that provide all-around education, research, training, and community service.
