Alchemist

Alchemist ranks 1st place in the list of the best restaurants in Denmark. This restaurant, the brainchild of chef Rasmus Munk, got two stars in the prestigious Michelin guide in 2020 after only being open for a little more than a year. This has never happened before for such a fledgling business on Danish soil. And the standard has been maintained because the two stars will be retained in 2021 as well.

Alchemist and chef Munk have pushed the restaurant and dining experience to previously unheard heights after expanding from a little 15-seat bistro. Despite being surrounded by art, theater, sound, and light while dining, the major focus is still on the cuisine, with a set menu of 50 "impressions." A cuisine that is both delicious and political, commenting on current events and societal issues. Chef Rasmus Munk says he wants the dining experience to reverberate beyond the restaurant sector, causing people to eat and then think.
