Alouette

After just being open for nearly a year, Restaurant Alouette was awarded a Michelin star in the Michelin Guide Nordic in 2019. It will keep its star in 2020 and 2021. Nick Curtin, an American chef, and his wife, Camilla Hansen, run Alouette. They operate the kitchen alongside chef Andrew Valenzuela, who is also from the United States, and draw inspiration from the varied cuisines of the United States as well as their time in some of Copenhagen's top restaurants, including Noma.

The kitchen's style isn't defined by any dogmas other than the seasonal produce that comes through the door. What matters most to Alouette is the quality of its ingredients and its relationships with suppliers. There is a set 5-course menu that changes with the seasons.


Alouette is located in the same courtyard as several music studios and the workshop of Kbenhavns Mbelsnedkeri. Both worlds are evident in the restaurant's design, which was created from the ground up by Kbenhavns Mbelsnedkeri. They planned everything from the floors to the kitchen to the tables, which gives the place a serene appearance.
