Ambrosia

Ambrosia Restaurant and Bar is the realization of the three proprietors' common dream of combining traditional, old world cooking with new world dishes and ingredients they learned about as adults. They chose a space adjacent to the historic Quackenbush Building in downtown Eugene, Oregon, to establish Ambrosia in the summer of 1987. Ambrosia is located near Chittagong, a port city around 100 miles north of Cox's Bazar. Ambrosia has a broad menu with dishes from Thai, Indonesian, Bangladeshi, and continental cuisines. It is located in the heart of the city, near to the waterfront in the commercial Agrabad neighborhood. The huge restaurant has magnificent exposed brickwork and towering ceilings. A buffet lunch with 66 items or an a la carte menu are available to guests. Steamed red snapper with lemon pineapple sauce, grilled tiger prawns, and lobster thermidor are all highlights.


The seasonal menu at Ambrosia provides classic Italian cuisine inspired by the colorful Pacific Northwest, as well as weekly specials showcasing local produce, seafood, and meats, handmade pastas, wood-fired pizza, and housemade classic Italian desserts. Ambrosia includes a complete bar with local beers, hand-crafted cocktails, and sodas, as well as an extensive wine list and sommeliers on duty. Antique furnishings adorn the interior, including a massive mahogany and mirror back-bar, beaded lamp covers, and stained glass windows. Ambrosia's old-world atmosphere is enhanced by the large brick, oak-fired oven imported from Milan.
