Pan Tao
In the center of Dhaka, Pan Tao delivers authentic Thai cuisine. Pharatee Sakhunsong, the Head Chef, is a Thai native with a 27-year culinary career spanning hawker stalls in Thailand and restaurants in the United Kingdom. Her menu features Thai ingredients flown in from Thailand and is based on the four basic flavours of Thai cuisine: sweet, sour, spicy, and salty. The tom yam gung ya (king prawn soup) and yam pak boong are popular dishes (white mushroom salad).
Seafood lovers will not be disappointed, with delicacies such as pla ka pong som rod (fried entire white snapper with sweet and sour sauce) and pla jaramed nung buoy (steamed pomfret with pickled plum) on the menu. Pan Tau has earned a reputation for delicious Thai curries, a classy atmosphere, and exceptional service, all of which may be washed down with one of their mocktails. Keep in mind that the air conditioning is frequently set to Antarctic temperatures.
