Anse Severe (La Digue)

Anse Severe is a popular beach on La Digue with a lovely tropical setting. It's a great place for visitors to hang out because it's easy to get to by bike, has plenty of shade, and has various kiosks serving drinks, smoothies, and juices.

Anse Severe's dazzling white beach and an underwater world rich in fish and corals make it one of the top snorkeling places on La Digue. If you wish to swim or snorkel, go to the beach at high tide; at low tide, the sea nearly disappears. As previously stated, the water is shallow and protected from the open ocean by rock and coral formations. The drop-off point lies on the other side of this barrier, making the beach suitable for children.

Another great time to visit Anse Severe is around sunset when the sky is stained with a thousand colors of pink, red, and orange.
