Anse Takamaka (Mahé)
Anse Takamaka is a lovely beach in Mahé's southwest. Thanks to the leafy trees, a gradually sloping seabed ideal for swimming and playing, and a magnificent restaurant at the end of the beach, this is the ideal place to spend a relaxed day by the sea. The surrounding area consists of granite boulders, golden beaches, and green hills typical of Seychelles.
Because of its crystal-clear water and abundance of marine life, Anse Takamaka is ideally suited to snorkeling. Visitors should bring their flippers and mask, as there is no equipment rental available on-site. The beach is also suitable for swimming, and the water is shallow enough that toddlers and inexperienced swimmers can enjoy a swim without fear. Away from the shore, a prominent Creole restaurant, Chez Batista, is immediately next to the beach, as is a big turtle enclosure.
This is a fantastic spot to see the sunset over the ocean! Anse Takamaka is close to the similarly lovely Anse Intendance, and we recommend visiting both on the same day.
