Apex Legends

Apex Legends is an online multiplayer battle royale game in which teams of three players use pre-made characters with unique skills known as "Legends", which are similar to those seen in hero shooters. Since the game's debut, alternate modes have been added that allow for single and two-player squads. The game is free to play and is commercialized through microtransactions and loot boxes, which let the user spend both real money and in-game cash on cosmetic items such as Legends costumes and new weapon colors.

Each contest typically involves twenty-three-player groups. Players can form squads with friends or be paired at random with other players. Each player on the team chooses one of the 21 available characters (as of season 13), with the restriction that no character may be chosen by a squad more than once. Each character in the squad has a distinct design, personality, and powers that give the team a variety of play styles. After that, all teams board an airplane that flies across the game map. Each squad has a jumpmaster who decides when and where the squad will skydive out of the plane, with the approval of the other squad members.

Once on the ground, the team can scavenge for guns, armor, and other equipment dispersed around buildings or in containers spread randomly around the area, while keeping a watch out for enemy squads. Apex Legends has a nonverbal communication "ping system" that lets players utilize their gaming controller to transmit specific directives, weapon placements, adversaries, and proposed methods to their team. While the game provides mobility choices comparable to other shooters, it also contains gameplay elements from earlier Titanfall games, such as the ability to climb over small walls, slide down inclined surfaces, and use zip lines to fast traverse an area.
