Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden
Assam Zoo and Botanical Gardens spreads over 432 acres (175 hectares) in the northeast region. The zoo is located in the Hengrabari Conservation Forest in Guwahati, India. The zoo has approximately 895 animals, birds and reptiles and nearly 113 species of animals and birds from all over the world.
Over the years, Assam Zoo and Botanical Gardens has grown and expanded to include attractive exotic animals such as African chimpanzees, white rhinos, black rhinos, zebras, ostriches, and giraffes. Cougars, jaguars, llamas in South America, and kangaroos in Australia. In order to acquire this exotic animal, the zoo has sent local animals such as single-horned Indian rhinoceros and other animals to different countries.
