Barbados Community College
After the UWI Open Campus, the Barbados Community College is the third best college in Barbados. The school is a dynamic learning facility that was designed to satisfy the Barbadian community's increasing educational, training, and development needs. The Minister of Education appoints a Board of Operation to oversee BCC's general management. The Principal is accountable to this Board.
Dr. Ian Austin is the current principal of the Barbados Community College, who was appointed in February 2016 following the death of the former principal, Norma Holder. Dr. Ian Austin is a Barbadian who graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and an MBA in Finance. He also has a Bachelors of Science in accounting and a Diploma of Education in Post Graduate Teaching from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. He is also the deputy director of Continuing and Professional Education at the University of the West Indies Open Campus, in addition to his role at the Barbados Community College. Deputy Principal Dr. Cheryl Weekes and Registrar Mr. Roger Worrell help to operate the Barbados Community College.
