Ross University School of Medicine

Ross University School of Medicine is one of the oldest and most prestigious medical schools in the Caribbean. It is ranked as Barbados' tenth best university. Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM) is a private medical school located in New York City. The organization's primary campus is in Barbados, with administrative offices in Iselin, New Jersey, and Miramar, Florida, in the United States. Prior to 2019, the university's main campus was in Portsmouth, Dominica, but in January 2019, it relocated to Barbados. Adtalem Global Education Inc. owns RUSM.

Due to the scarcity of medical schools and physicians in the United States at the time, Robert Ross launched the medical school in 1978 as The University of Dominica School of Medicine as a provider of medical education offering Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree programs. Students from the United States and Canada are the majority of the university's students. Ross University School of Medicine became the official name of the university in 1984. The charter class of Ross University School of Medicine consisted of twelve students. Ross University's 10,000th alumni obtained their medical degree in 2013.

Ross University School of Medicine, which was founded in 1978, has been providing students with the foundation they need to pursue successful careers in medicine for more than 40 years. Ross University offers a variety of programs for those interested in pursuing a medical degree. More than 14,000 alumni from the school are practicing law in the United States and Canada. The Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and Other Health Professions, as well as many other competent organizations, have accredited Ross University School of Medicine.

The World Scholarship Forum put RUSM in the top tier of Caribbean Medical Schools (2020), in the top ten in a Money Inc. article in 2019, and on the WHO's World Directory of Medical Schools.
