Beijing Daxing International Airport
Beijing is served by two international airports: Beijing Capital International Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK). It is situated between Beijing and Langfang, in the province of Hebei. It is known as "the starfish." On September 26, 2019, it started operating after being finished on June 30, 2019.
The airport, which serves Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, is located 46 kilometers south of Tiananmen Square, 26 kilometers west of downtown Langfang, 50 kilometers northeast of Xiong'an New Area, and 65 kilometers south of Beijing Capital International Airport. While the majority of Star Alliance members[a] have remained at Beijing Capital International, as has Hainan Airlines, it serves as a hub for SkyTeam alliance airlines and some Oneworld members.
The US$11.4 billion facility, which took nearly five years to complete, has the largest single-building airport terminal in the world with a 700,000 m2 terminal and occupies 47 km2 of land. The airport was given the Airports Council International prize for Asia-best Pacific airport in terms of cleanliness in 2020.
