Cairo International Airport
The primary international airport serving Cairo is Cairo International Airport, which is also Egypt's largest and busiest airport. It serves as the main hub for several other airlines, including EgyptAir, Nile Air, and others. The airport has an area of around 37 km2 and is situated in Heliopolis, northeast of Cairo, about fifteen kilometers from the city's economic district.
Being the main entrance to Egypt's capital city and its destination, Cairo Airport is becoming increasingly important internationally. As such, it is working with various interested governmental, security, airline, and business parties to realize performance integrity while fostering customer loyalty for Egyptian Civil Aviation, which is governed by a number of laws, regulations, and rules. They expect that resources be used as efficiently as possible while also achieving sustainable growth for the company and its customers.
The structure has a mezzanine, a first floor, and a ground floor. Three phases have been established for the task scope. The ground floor renovation was the first phase, which was finished in March 2002. The airport continued to operate normally throughout this time. The primary entrances, a bar, a café, the majority of the duty-free shops, boutiques, and the transit and transfer facilities are located on the ground floor. The building of the upper floor, which houses lounges, cafes, and the parking area, was the focus of the second phase, which began in June 2003. The lounges for first and business class will be on the mezzanine floor. Travelers in economy class will pay for lounge access; each lounge has a distinct theme, including Italian, British, American, French, and Arabic. A lavish VIP lounge will also be available to accommodate all tastes. By the end of 2003, the third phase, which included duty-free stores and a 1960s-style cafe with a view of the runway, was finished.
