BMW
Motoren Werke AG, abbreviated as BMW, is a German multinational corporation that manufactures luxury automobiles and motorbikes and is based in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. The company was established in 1916 as a maker of airplane engines.
BMW was the fourteenth-largest automaker in the world in 2017, producing 2,279,503 automobiles. The firm has a long history in motorsport, particularly in touring vehicles, Formula 1, sports cars, and the Isle of Man TT. BMW produces a wide range of automobiles, some of which are among the most costly vehicles on the market, while others are affordable to the average Joe. BMW, a pioneer in innovation from its inception, introduced its first completely electric vehicle in 1972.
Top German luxury vehicle manufacturers BMW purchased the British Rover Group in 1994, followed by Rolls-Royce in 2003. The E30 M3 is the most recognizable BMW vehicle of all time. As the first M3, it launched the success of a single marque that few automakers have been able to match. Other well-known BMW models include the BMW i8, BMW 507, and Isetta, which separate BMW from other companies. The Isle of Man TT is a motorcycle race held on the Isle of Man.
