Mercedes Benz
Mercedes-Benz, or simply Mercedes, is a German premium automobile manufacturer. Mercedes-Benz and Daimler AG subsidiary Mercedes-Benz AG are based in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Mercedes-Benz manufactures both consumer and commercial premium automobiles. It manufactured its first Mercedes-Benz-badged autos in 1926. Mercedes-Benz was the world's leading seller of luxury vehicles in 2018, selling 2.31 million units.
The company's roots may be traced back to Daimler-Motoren-1901 Gesellschaft's Mercedes and Karl Benz's 1886 Benz Patent-Motorwagen, commonly recognized as the first self-propelled car to use an internal combustion engine. The brand's tagline is "the finest or nothing."
Mercedes-Benz is well-known for its high quality and longevity. Mercedes climbed from 25th to 5th place in J. D. Power's Initial Quality Study for the first quarter of 2007, receiving multiple accolades for its newer models. Mercedes-Benz's first quality rating rose another notch to fourth place in 2008. In addition to this honor, it got the Platinum Factory Quality Award for its Mercedes-Benz body assembly plant in Sindelfingen, Germany. Mercedes-Benz automobiles were rated above average in build quality and dependability in J. D. Power's 2011 US Initial Quality and Vehicle Dependability Studies. Furthermore, according to a 2014 iSeeCars.com survey for Reuters, Mercedes has the lowest car recall rate among competitors.
In 2020, around 2.1 million automobiles and nearly 375,000 vans were sold. The 300SL is undoubtedly the most iconic automobile with butterfly doors ever created, thanks to its ingenious and immensely stylish "wing doors." Mercedes-Benz 600, S-Class Hybrid, and Sprinter are among the well-known models.
