Brännö
Brännö is an utterly car-free island in Sweden located in the Southern Gothenburg Archipelago. Brännö differs from the other islands in the archipelago because its agriculture, history of navigation, customs, and shipping have provided its main livelihood.
Musician Lasse Dahlqvist made the island famous through his songs. If you want to experience classical dance on the Brännö pier, take a boat to Husvik in the Southwest. From the mountain at the old pilot's observatory, you can see from Vinga to the entrance to Gothenburg. The tiny houses and narrow streets give the island a quaint impression.
Through a narrow land connection, visitors can walk to the wonderful Galterö. Here there is a rich birdlife and a wonderful nature. Guests can easily paddle from Brännö and easily catch kayaks on the beaches of Galterös bay. There are many bathing spots on the island. At Ramsdal's bathing area, near Husvik, there's a kid-friendly beach with rocks and jumping towers. Rödsten is about 1 km away from the swimming area Gröna Vik. It is a sandy beach and jetty. This hardly crowded island in Sweden is also the perfect destination for couples with its charming scenery.
