Búzios
Buzios ranks 5th in the list of the most beautiful coastal towns in Brazil. Armaço dos Bzios, or simply Bzios, is a luxurious retreat for Rio residents. When its beaches were first used for summer vacations in the 1950s, Bzios was a quiet fishing village. This seaside destination provides an admirable blend of natural beauty and activity. Along the beautiful boardwalk to the center of town, there are countless shops and restaurants one after the other for entertainment. Bzios, often referred to as Brazil's Saint Tropez (due to Brigitte Bardot's frequent visits), exudes pure charm with its pristine beaches, delectable cuisine, and bustling nightlife.
The majority of its beaches have been designated as environmental protected areas and are considered local heritage. The west coast beaches of the peninsula have calm, clear waters, whereas the east coast beaches, which face the open sea, are more wild and popular with surfers and water sports enthusiasts. The most popular beaches in town are Azeda, Ferradura, Joo Fernandes, and Armaço. Rua das Pedras, Buzios' main street, comes alive at night with an active nightlife and a wide range of shopping and restaurants.
