Chelsea Football Club
Chelsea Football Club is a professional football club based in Fulham, London, currently playing in the English Premier League. The club's home ground is Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea won their first major title in 1955, when they won the national championship. They then won a few more trophies between 1965 and 1996. The past two decades have been Chelsea's most successful years, 18 major trophies out of 21 since 1997. Chelsea won 6 league titles, 8 FA Cups, 5 League Cups, 4 FA Community Shields, 1 UEFA Champions League, 2 UEFA Cup Winners' Cups, 2 UEFA Cups Europa League and 1 UEFA Super Cup. Chelsea are the only London club to win the UEFA Champions League, and one of five British clubs to have won all three UEFA club competitions.
The traditional Chelsea shirt colors are dark blue and white socks. The club's logo has been changed a few times to bring in new branding and images. The current logo features a lion holding a stick, a variation on the logo introduced in the 1950s. The club has the sixth highest average attendance in the UK. An average of 41,500 fans attended the stadium to watch the home team play in the 2015–16 season, the seventh highest in the Premier League. Since 2003, Chelsea has been owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. In 2016, they were ranked seventh by Forbes magazine in the world's most valuable football clubs, with a value of £1.15 billion (US$1.66 billion).
