Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, commonly known as Tottenham or Spurs, is an English professional football club based in London, the capital city of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Their home ground as of April 2019 is the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium replacing the previously demolished White Hart Lane. Their training ground is located at Bulls Cross, in London's Enfield borough. The ENIC Group is the owner of the club. Tottenham chose the color white shirt with blue pants since the 1898-99 season. The team's logo is a rooster standing on top of a ball, accompanied by the Latin slogan Audere est Facere (Dare to think, dare to do).
Tottenham was founded in 1882. They won their first FA Cup title in 1901, becoming the first club under the league to do so since the Football League was founded in 1888. Tottenham was also the first club in the 20th century to win the League Cup and FA Cup double in the 1960-1961 season. After successfully defending the FA Cup in 1962, they became the first British club to win a continental title, winning the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1963. Spurs also won their first UEFA Champions League title. Cup in 1972, becoming the first British club to win two different European Cups. From 1950 to the end of the 2000s, the team always won at least one trophy a decade, equaling the record with Manchester United. In total, Tottenham won 2 national championships, 8 FA Cups, 4 League Cups, 7 Super Cups, 1 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and 2 UEFA Cups. They are also runners-up of the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League. Spurs have a long history of confrontation with city side Arsenal, and the match between the two teams is individually named the North London Derby.
