DAR ES SALAAM UNIVERSITY
Dar es Salaam University is a Tanzanian state university located in Dar es Salaam. In 1961, it was established as a University of London affiliate college. The university became an affiliate of the University of East Africa in 1963, shortly after Tanzania gained independence from the United Kingdom (UEA).
The University of East Africa split into three different universities in 1970: Makerere University in Uganda, Nairobi University in Kenya, and Dar es Salaam University in Tanzania. In 2007, there were 19650 students enrolled. There are 17098 registered undergraduates among them. The number of registered postgraduates is 2552. The Institute is located in Tanzania's Dar es Salaam. The institute's motto is "Wisdom of Freedom." It provides a bachelor's degree in law and a bachelor's degree in law enforcement.
