UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH AFRICA

The University of South Africa (UNISA), usually known as Unisa, is the country's largest university system. It enrolls a third of all South African university students. UNISA is one of the world's mega universities, with almost 400,000 students throughout its many institutions and affiliations, including international students from 130 countries, making it Africa's sole one. Unisa has nurtured and propagated culture in all of its manifestations since its foundation in 1873. Practical language, art, and music abilities have been actively pursued through the formulation of curricula and the implementation of particular courses and examinations, in addition to academic courses offered by the University of South Africa's College of Humanities.

Unisa is a full-fledged university that offers both vocational and academic programs, many of which have received international recognition, as well as a vast geographic footprint that allows students to be recognized and hired in a number of countries throughout the world. The university has produced a number of notable South Africans, including two Nobel Laureates: Nelson Mandela, the country's first democratically elected president, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
