Devil Backbone Brewing Company
Devil Backbone Brewing Company is a brewery located in Roseland, Virginia, owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev. It was founded in 2008 by Steven Crandall. In 2012, a 15.000 square foot manufacturing and machine room facility, called "The Outpost," was established near Lexington, Virginia. In 2016, the company was acquired by Anheuser-Busch InBev, meaning Devil Backbone Brewing Company would no longer meet the Brewers Association's definition of a "craft brewery".
Devil Backbone produces about 128 different beers. In 2015, the company produced nearly 62,000 cases of beer. The following year, 75,000 barrels were produced. Beer is produced with the traditional German brewing system. As of 2016, the company began releasing both the Vienna Lager and the Eight Point IPA in 12-ounce cans.
Philosopher: they consider the nature of slowness to be extremely important. That's why they take the time to brew their beer and that's why they're engrossed in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mountains. If you are ever in Virginia, you better stop by the brewery and have a beer here.
