Red Brick Brewing Company
Red Brick Brewing Company was founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 1993 and was originally the Atlanta Brewing Company before changing its name in 2010 to honor its original beer, Red Brick Ale. The brewery, a converted old brick warehouse, was originally located at 1219 Williams Street. The casks have pine sides and cold barrels purchased from the UK, and the beer is made in the older, more traditional brewing style. The large red malt mill, still used by the brewery today, was found abandoned on a meadow in England. After being shipped to Atlanta and undergoing a complete refurbishment, the plant was put to work preparing the grain for beer production.
Atlanta Brewing Company produced 4,000 cases of beer in 1994, the first year of production. To sustain this initial demand, the brewery brewed once or twice a day. Peachtree Pale Ale, Spring Brew, Summer Brew, Winter Brew, Golden Lager and Kelly's Light were added to the list in the early years.
