Diponegoro University
Diponegoro University (Undip) is an Indonesian state university in Semarang, Central Java. The Semarang University Foundation established it as a private university in 1957, making it a pioneer of higher learning institutions in Indonesia and the oldest educational institution in Central Java. In Indonesia, it is a member of IDGHE (the so-called Ivy League colleges).
Economic and business, social and political science, humanities, law, medicine, engineering, fisheries and marine science, natural sciences and mathematics, public health, animal agriculture, and psychology are among the 11 faculties of the institution. There is also a postgraduate school with eight PhD programs and 28 master's programs. There is also a vocational school where students can choose from a wide range of disciplines.
In addition to the main campus in Semarang, there are four satellite campuses located outside of the city. The administrative center, the Central Library, the engineering faculty, and the school of science are all located on the Tembalang campus, which is the newest and largest. The Pleburan campus, which includes the school of social sciences as well as the teaching and doctorate programs, is the university's oldest. The school of medicine is located on the Gunung Brintik campus, while the faculty of fisheries and marine science is located on the Teluk Awur campus.
On the Tembalang campus, there is a mosque that is surrounded by gardens and is considered as one of the most unusual mosques in Semarang.
The ICT Centre, the dormitory student building, and the sports stadium are also available to students.
While most classes for international students are taught in English, students are expected to have a solid understanding of Indonesian language and culture, and all students are required to have a minimum level of English proficiency in order to study at the university.
