Institute of Technology Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)
Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) is Indonesia's foremost university for science and technology. ITS, founded in 1960 in Surabaya, Indonesia, aspires to be a world-class university that contributes to the nation's independence by becoming a reference in education, research, and community service, as well as the development of innovation, particularly those that support industry and the maritime sector.
The Faculty of Science and Data Analytics, the Faculty of Industrial Technology and Systems Engineering, the Faculty of Civil, Planning, and Geo Engineering, the Faculty of Marine Technology, the Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology, the Faculty of Creative Design and Digital Business, and the Vocational Faculty comprise ITS Surabaya. The seven faculties provide 33 undergraduate programs, six vocational study programs, 20 master's programs, 15 doctorate programs, and 20 international undergrad programs (IUP). ITS has seven international accreditation programs (IABEE and ABET) and 16 international certification programs (AUN-QA). ITS has international partners from 52 countries, with over 360 partner institutions.
It has around 1,000 faculty members and 14,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Manufacturing, transportation, and logistics, sustainable energy, artificial intelligence and biomedical technology, advanced materials and nanotechnology, internet of things and defense technology, agri-food and biotechnology, climate change and disaster, maritime science and technology, fundamental sciences, and infrastructure and sustainable environment are all current areas of research at ITS. ITS includes a Science Techno Park with centers for automotive, maritime technology, information and communication technology and robotics, and creative design.
Surabaya is home to three ITS campuses. The main campus, which covers an area of 189 hectares, is located in Sukolilo. Through smart and eco-campus programs, the university is always promoting sustainable growth on campus. In addition, ITS collaborates closely with the Surabaya City Government and the East Java Provincial Government to develop and deploy smart city technology for Surabaya and neighboring cities.
