Universitas Kristen Petra (Petra Christian University-PCU), one of Surabaya's largest private universities, was formed in September 1961 with the goal of being a caring and worldwide university committed to Christian ideals. As a result, they have steadily improved in academics, character, and structure.

Over 10,000 students are presently enrolled in Petra's several houses, studying a variety of disciplines. PCU has maintained a commitment to continual improvement in the academic and management areas for nearly 60 years in order to preserve the quality of good education and service. Furthermore, in addition to the commitment, various accomplishments and recognitions have been attained. PCU is pleased to LLDIKTI VII (Coordinator for Private Universities Region VII) for recognizing PCU as one of five exceptional campuses in the region from 2008 to 2020.
