Satya Wacana Christian University
Satya Wacana Christian University was established in 1956 as the Indonesian Christian Teaching Educational Tertiary Institution. Education, English, history, economics, and law were the first five departments established.
In 1959, it was renamed Satya Wacana Christian University, which coincided with the establishment of several additional departments. Satya Wacana translates as "trust in God's decisions."
The Christian higher education school today provides 39 undergraduate courses, ten master's degree programs, four associate degree programs, and three PhD programs. Agriculture and business, biology, economics and business, electronic and computer engineering, information technology, interdisciplinary studies, language, law, medical and health science, psychology, science and mathematics, social sciences and communications, teacher training and education, and theology are among the faculties.
Students who want to participate in study abroad, volunteer, or exchange programs can do so. During their studies, students have access to extracurricular activities and resources such as plays, vocal groups, sporting teams, and leadership training. On campus, students can access a variety of facilities, including sports facilities, an auditorium, a health clinic, post offices, banks, and stores.
Satya Wacana Christian University offers a varied student body, with students from all around the world enrolling. The institution has collaborations with a number of domestic and foreign organizations, universities, and governmental agencies, including the Bank of Indonesia Semarang, the University of Western Sydney, the National Education Department, and Bethesda Hospital Yogyakarta.
