The Empire State Building is a 102-story Art Deco skyscraper located in Midtown Manhattan, New York, USA. Designed by Shreve, Lamb & Harmon and built from 1930 to 1931. Its name is derived from New York State's nickname "Empire State". The roof height of the building is 1,250 feet (380 m), and the total height including antennas is 1,454 feet (443.2 m).
The Empire State Building remained the tallest building in the world until the World Trade Center was built in 1970. After the latter's collapse in 2001, the Empire State Building was again the tallest skyscraper in the city until 2012. As of 2020, it is the 7th tallest building in New York, the 9th tallest completed skyscraper in the United States, and the 49th tallest building in the world.
