One Vanderbilt

One Vanderbilt is a 93-story skyscraper located on Vanderbilt Avenue and 42nd Street in Midtown Manhattan, New York. Designed by Cohn Pedersen Fox, the building was proposed by developer SL Green Realty as part of a planned Midtown East zoning change in the early 2010s. With a rooftop height of 1,301 feet (397 m) and a spire of 1,401 feet (427 m) above the ground, the skyscraper is the fifth-tallest building in the city after the World Trade Center, Central Park Tower....

The facade and design should harmonize with the central station to the east. There is a wedge-shaped hollow at the base of the building, tapering as the tower rises, with several "pavilions" and peaks at the top. The facade is mainly made of glass panels and the lintels are made of terracotta. The superstructure is made of steel and concrete and is 105 feet (32 m) high inside. The lobby has the entrance to the nearest railway and metro station to the bank branch, and the restaurant Le Pavillon is located on the 2nd floor. Most of the building is dedicated to office space and the upper floors have a summit observation deck.
