ETH Zurich - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology

This Swiss institution boasts around 18,000 students from 110 different countries, 500 professors, and 10,500 employees. ETH Zurich was established in 1855, with an emphasis on technology and natural sciences. Albert Einstein is the university's most renowned alumnus, although it has also produced 20 other Nobel Laureates.

Architecture and civil engineering, Engineering Sciences, and Natural Sciences are the University's four core faculties. The language of teaching at the undergraduate level is German, while the language of instruction at the graduate level is in English, and a staggering 70% of ETH Zurich's students come from outside of Switzerland, making this an extremely international university. The University also has strong ties with industry.
