GEMS British International School Madinaty
GEMS British International School Madinaty is the last name appearing on the list of the best international schools in Egypt. Initially established as a British school in the lovely city of Madinaty, the school soon rose to prominence as the hub for international education in the area.
The World Academy of Sports (WAOS) has granted BISM full accreditation, and the school is currently working toward obtaining Council of International Schools (CIS) accreditation. British Schools in the Middle East (BSME) is another organization that BISM belongs to.
In the cozy, secure, and amiable setting of preschool, kids learn via play, exploration, and routines. Engaging activities and creative play improve working memory, and attention span, and help kids start to develop self-control and social skills. Children are encouraged to gain self-assurance, independence, proficient language and communication skills, gross and fine motor skills, behavior and emotion management, and social skills.
FS1 focuses on language, communication, physical development, and personal growth, starting with Phase 1 Phonics. It enhances auditory skills, prepares children for reading and writing, and develops basic mathematical concepts.
FS2 adheres to the Statutory Framework 2021's Early Learning Goals, implementing daily routines for writing, reading, and math. GEMS Jewels of Kindness promotes social, emotional, and personal growth. Regular phonics lessons and hands-on learning opportunities inspire exploration.
There are two main stages in the primary school:
- Key Stage One aims to strengthen EYFS foundations by providing language development tools and materials, incorporating science, math, geography, and history courses.
- As pupils advance to Key Stage 2, students are exposed to a wider range of subjects, with an emphasis on literature, science, math, geography, history, fine arts, French, and music.
GEMS British International School Madinaty follows the English National Curriculum in years six through eight, with nine core subjects and Arabic education taught by local experts. There are eight 45-minute periods in a school day, for a total of forty periods in a week. a 20-minute break in the morning and a 45-minute break for lunch.
In Year 9, students are required to take Arabic classes in addition to the Cambridge PRE-IGCSE courses and the British National Curriculum. They take IGCSE Mathematics and English in Year 10 along with optional subjects. In Year 11, they select three more IGCSEs, and in Year 12, they finish the A2 component.
To meet the needs of our students and the parent community, BISM provides a wide range of after-school activities. The BISM experience is genuinely defined by the relationships that are forged between our school, students, and parents via athletic events, art exhibits, and yearly displays, as well as after-school programs and all the small moments in between.
