New Cairo British International School
New Cairo British International School is the next school on the list of best international schools in Egypt. The school, founded by parents with WHO connections, operates as a not-for-profit organization under the Heliopolis Society for the Cultural and Social Care of English-speaking Foreigners, with an elected board. The school is still run as an international school with a curriculum enhanced by the IB and taught in a British manner.
Using the pedagogy of the Primary Years Programme (PYP), New Cairo British International School has taken the UK National Curriculum for England and sequenced it into several comprehensive, subject-specific Scope and sequence documents for primary school instruction.
The PYP is the foundation of the Dutch stream's curriculum, which is an essential component of our school's history and culture. For English and mathematics, both streams follow their respective national curricula, but when feasible, they incorporate PYP's inquiry-based learning methodology into these subjects.
The British National Curriculum serves as the foundation for the Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9) portion of the Secondary School. It also incorporates learning concepts that support self-directed learning and robust research abilities. The school offers the IB Diploma Program as a pre-university credential while offering a combination of GCSE and IGCSE exams in Years 10 and 11.
New Cairo British International School's educational programs place a strong emphasis on allowing students to learn outside of the classroom. To enhance their lesson plans, educators are urged to plan informative field trips. The Primary School takes residential trips to PGL in the UK and Cyprus, while the Dutch school hosts an annual family picnic.
The secondary school hosts a Challenges Week where students can select from a variety of domestic and international educational residential visits. Groups have recently left the country for trips to China, England, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, France, New York, Cyprus, Uganda, Japan, Jordan, and Thailand.
The great majority of pupils are from wealthy families. Because of this, New Cairo British International School has made community service a core component of its identity, with students regularly participating in fundraising and service projects.
