Jisev Valley
Jisev, a picturesque mountain village, is an ideal Tajik escape. Take a stroll around the village or go for a short hike along with one of the many lakes. The craggy mountains and dotted trees create a one-of-a-kind atmosphere.
To get to the first village, you'll need to walk for around two hours, up and down a small trail that follows the slope of the hills. You'll cross tumbling rivers and lonely mountain lakes along the way. If you travel in August, you might even be able to see wild cherries growing alongside the rivers. When you cross the river, you will be leaving behind not only motorized traffic but also any phone or internet connection.
In the village, there are a few houses that are clustered together in groups of 2-3 dwellings. Vehicles are not delivered to Jisev. The good news is that you'll be able to spend the night in a typical Pamiri house and learn about the local culture and traditions.
