Khorog
Khorog, a small town near the Tajik-Afghan border, is located in the center of a deep canyon. This region, hidden behind the rising Pamir Mountains, is also known as the "top of the globe" due to its tremendous altitude, with Khorog itself standing 6,561 feet above sea level. The city's weather is mostly nice all year, thanks to the surrounding mountains, with temperatures reaching a blistering 40 degrees Celsius in July.

The Regional Museum is a great place to learn about the history of the area. If you're visiting the city in the winter, don't miss bathing in the warm pool at Garm Chashma.
Other attractions in Khorog include the Khorog City Park and the Khorog Museum. The municipal park is a great spot to unwind and enjoy the evening breeze. It has a café and an open theater.
