The Pamir Mountains
Treat yourself to a taste of extreme adventure in the Pamir Mountains, sometimes known as the "Roof of the World." Glaciers, lakes, alpine deserts, rivers, valleys, and green and rough mountains are teeming with treasures to satisfy your desire.
This experience is just for the brave, as the area is hard with few facilities and the climate can be harsh. You will witness numerous high mountains on your adventure, including Ismoil Somoni Peak and Korzhenevskaya Peak.
The Fedchenko Glacier, if you haven't heard of it, is the largest glacier in the Pamirs and the longest glacier outside of the Arctic and Antarctica. It can be found in the Pamir Mountains.
This journey will take you through steep river canyons, rocky terrain, and picturesque villages and cities. The locals are warm and helpful, and you may be forced to stay in one of their homes at times. Rushan, the primary commercial center in the mountains, has a couple of hotels and businesses.
