King's Academy
King's Academy is the next school on the list of the best international schools in Jordan. It is a coeducational, independent boarding and day school located in Madaba-Manja, Jordan, serving students in grades 7 through 12.
The school accepts students from all socioeconomic backgrounds and offers financial aid to about 49% of the total enrollment. In addition to students from 12 cities and towns throughout Jordan, it is home to students from about 43 countries.
The massive 575-dunum (144-acre) King's campus houses about 35 significant buildings. Modern classrooms, labs, and a library with 55,000 books are among them. There's also an astronomical observatory, a multifaith spiritual center, a garden, faculty family apartments in the dorms, and an amazing auditorium that serves the entire country.
King's Academy combines the Middle East's history, customs, language, and cultural values with an American liberal arts and sciences curriculum. It also offers close teacher-student interaction, the newest technology, and an engaging range of extracurricular and curriculum activities that support students' intellectual and personal development.
The Upper School's academic program, which is based on the liberal arts and sciences, offers chances for both depth and breadth of study. In addition to a wide range of electives in history, religion, and the arts, such as classes in vocal and instrumental music, dance, theater, sculpture, drawing, and painting, King's Academy offers Advanced Placement exams in 28 subjects.
Character development, discussion and self-expression, cooperative teamwork, comprehending and assessing various points of view, and play are the main focuses of The King's Academy Middle School. With engaging, practical lessons that stretch the intellect and spark the creative juices, the academic program is unmatched in Jordan.
Three key competencies are the focus of the student-centered grading approach used in King's Middle School: goal-setting, reading and comprehending feedback, and reflection and metacognition. With the help of supporting documentation and narrative comments from their teachers, students are expected to reflect on their learning.
There are typically 14–16 students in each class to maintain a small, personal feel. Every classroom is set up to promote interactive and dynamic learning. To promote group work and the growth of collaborative skills, math and science classrooms use pod seating and humanities classrooms use Harkness tables.
The school day runs from roughly 8:30 in the morning until 15:30. King's Academy also offers three- or four-day short ministers during the academic year, which offer chances for project-based, interdisciplinary learning and experiential learning.
