New English School
The New English School is a coeducational, private school for students in grades FS1 (Pre2) through nursery (Pre1). Ten years ago, as an alternative to traditional bilingual education, NES launched an English-only stream for the Early Years, firmly believing that students should discover their abilities in the larger world.
The pre-IGCSE program offered by the school serves as the basis for AS and A-Level studies and is based on the National Curriculum for England and Wales. Additionally, the Cambridge International Primary Program has received complete support.
The Edexcel (London) and Cambridge International Examination Authorities have accredited NES as a recognized teaching institution and examination center. As part of the American Program, the school also grants the American High School Diploma. Because of its dedication to education and achievements, New English School has placed its name in the list of the best international schools in Jordan.
English is the language of instruction at New English School. For Years 1 and 2, it follows the Cambridge Curriculum framework, which has been integrated into the English National Curriculum for FS1 and FS2. The study of the fundamental subjects of English, mathematics, science, Arabic, music, theater, art, religion, ICT, and physical education is guaranteed by this extensive and well-rounded curriculum.
Students in Year 6 take the English, math, and science Cambridge Primary Checkpoint exams after their primary education. In essence, these exams serve as a diagnostic assessment tool, providing insightful feedback on students' areas of strength and growth before moving on to the next educational phase.
Any student exhibiting difficulty with Arabic from Year 7 to Year 9 is eligible to enroll in the Arabic intensive program. Both new students who did not demonstrate adequate language proficiency in the school's entrance exam and current students whose final academic year performance was not high enough (usually less than a D+) will be automatically enrolled in the intensive Arabic program.
At New English School, the Upper Secondary program meets the pastoral and academic needs of students in Years 10 through 13. It adheres to the school's overarching policy of encouraging industry, creativity, and academic excellence.
The IGCSE curriculum is strictly followed in Years 10 and 11, which automatically satisfies the Tawjihi equivalency requirements set forth by the Jordanian Ministry of Education. Students take the AS and A-level courses in Years 12 and 13. It is recommended that students take four complete A-levels, including Arabic if necessary.
