Lake Allatoona
A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir called Lake Allatoona is located on the Etowah River in Georgia's northwest. The majority of this reservoir is located in southwest Cherokee County and southeast Bartow County. Only a small fraction is in Cobb County, close to Acworth.
The city that is closest to Allatoona Dam is Cartersville. On the peninsula separating the lake's two arms, Red Top Mountain State Park is situated on its shores. Because of its remote location and the lake's predominant obstruction, the majority of the north side of the lake continues to be protected from land development.
One of Georgia's clearest lakes is Lake Allatoona. Even the adjacent towns receive drinking water from the lake because of how clean it is. 12,000 acres and 270 miles of shoreline make up Allatoona. It has eight full-service marinas with boat rentals available as well as countless fishing options. You might be able to capture largemouth bass and smallmouth bass among the frequent fishes in this area. Swimming, beach volleyball, and sunbathing are all well-liked pastimes in this area because Lake Allatoona also has these amenities. Numerous camping areas and tenting areas are close by for those who enjoy lakeside camping.
