Lake Lanier
The next position on the list of the most beautiful lakes in Georgia is Lake Lanier. A reservoir called Lake Lanier can be found in Georgia's northern region. It was built in 1956 as a result of the Chattahoochee River's Buford Dam's construction, and it receives water from the Chestatee River as well.
Georgia's largest lake, Lake Lanier, has 692 miles of shoreline and 39,000 acres of surface area. On Lake Lanier, there are also approximately fifty parks, 23 of which have swimming areas. The sandy beaches are ideal for a day picnic because of their vividly blue waters and beautiful sunsets.
Over 90 parks, including 23 swim beaches, may be found along Lake Lanier's 680 miles of shoreline in the form of corps, state, county, and city parks. All of these parks have land access, some have water access, and the majority have other features including playgrounds, picnic spaces, restrooms, and boat ramps. Additionally, there are other beaches on islands dotted around Lake Lanier. Particularly during the summer holidays, boaters, residents of houseboats, users of jet skis, and others are fond of the lake. Each year, more than 10 million people visit the lake, its marinas, and the Lake Lanier Islands resort. The 1996 Summer Olympics' rowing and sprint canoeing competitions were contested on the lake's northern end.
