Lake Burton
In Rabun County, in the northeastern part of Georgia, there is a reservoir with an area of 11.23 km2 and a shoreline of 100 km called Lake Burton. Although Georgia Power/Southern Company owns and manages the lake, it is a public lake. The lake, known for its exceptional water clarity and encircled by the biodiverse ecology of the Blue Ridge Mountains, will celebrate its centennial in 2020.
Lake is well-known for its location in the Appalachians and is a part of a chain of lakes. The lake's 62 kilometers of shoreline have lovely beaches, swimming areas, bathrooms, picnic areas, and parking spaces. The Blue Ridge Mountains, which surround Lake Burton, have a biodiverse ecosystem and are renowned for their amazing water clarity.
In addition to thrilling adventures and well-liked water sports, Lake Burton is well-known for a variety of other activities. The Memorial Day weekend wooden boat parade always draws a large crowd of spectators, and the Fourth of July fireworks are a must-see annual event. The fireworks were launched directly from the center of the lake, creating stunning views.
