Lavender tea
Lavender is a purple-flowering herb that has been used since the Roman empire. It is most commonly used as aromatherapy. Many people are unaware that lavender may be made into tea and added to a relaxing nighttime routine.
Lavender tea is made by steeping lavender flower buds in hot water, resulting in a beautiful purple beverage with a distinct flavor and aroma. Not only is lavender popular as a relaxing bedtime tea, but some research suggests it may also help with relaxation and sleep quality. For example, one small research indicated that women who had just given birth and drank one cup (237 mL) of lavender tea every day for two weeks felt less fatigued than a control group. Another research in older adults found that drinking lavender tea reduced depression and anxiety symptoms, both of which can lead to insomnia.
