Passionflower tea
Passionflower, also known as Passiflora or Maypop, is a plant that has been studied for its remarkable medicinal properties for a long time. Like chamomile, it has flavonoids that bind to the same receptors in the brain as benzodiazepines and may help alleviate anxiety symptoms. Drinking a single cup of passionflower tea has been shown to improve sleep quality.
Passionflower extract is widely used as a herbal supplement and is available in tinctures and capsules. Passionflower tea may also be made using the plant's fresh or dried leaves. It's sometimes used as a natural remedy for anxiety and sleep problems. Passionflower herbal products, such as teas, syrups, and tinctures, may work as a natural sedative and help relieve anxiety, according to a review of nine research. Previous research of 41 people found that drinking one cup (237 mL) of passionflower tea each day for one week improved subjective sleep quality much more than a placebo.
