Lazer Blade+MIPS

Lazer has been manufacturing bicycle helmets for almost a century (beginning with leather hats), so you can be confident that the Belgian firm has plenty of expertise in making cycling gear. The Lazer Blade+MIPS helmet from this brand is an airy and well-ventilated type that we found to be quite comfortable and simple to adjust. It has a one-of-a-kind thumb screw (dubbed Rollsys) on the peak of the helmets for tightening or loosening the internal frame.

Both the front and rear of the Lazer Blade+MIPS were fairly tight, however (it feels like someone was grabbing your head). But do not worry; if you have any difficulties, Lazer is among the few firms on the market that include an additional strip of cushioning inside. Even better, an aeroshell ($19.99) is available for a much more aero form - and to help ward off the weather (or storm, if you are feeling brave).

One recommendation: We recommend ordering a size bigger than the normal size you are used to when it comes to most Lazer models.
