Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC)
The Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), is a university hospital linked with Leiden University, the medical institution of which it is a part. It is situated in the Dutch city of Leiden. LUMC is a cutting-edge academic medical facility dedicated to research, education, and patient care. Its research encompasses everything from pure basic medical research to practical clinical research.
The LUMC is a member of the PREVENT-nCoV consortium, which includes ExpreS2ion Biotechnologies, AdaptVac (a joint venture between ExpreS2ion Biotechnologies and University of Copenhagen spin-out NextGen Vaccines), the Institute for Tropical Medicine Tubingen, the University of Copenhagen's Department of Immunology and Microbiology (ISIM), and Wageningen University and Research's Laboratory of Virology. The consortium was awarded a €2.7 million EU Horizon 2020 grant in March 2020 for the development of a COVID-19 vaccine candidate.
